cedar, hickory, country, twig, rustic, furniture, hand made New Your artist craftsman

Rustic life started for me about 5 years ago, coinciding with my move from Indiana to Upstate New York.   A day trip to the Adirondacks uncovered a multitude of talented artisans in rustic craft and from that moment on, I was hooked.  I began to experiment with different materials and soon found myself liking the look and feel of hickory and hard maple.  I am fortunate enough to have access to woods that are overpopulated with both.  All of my materials are live cut and I use this as a tool for responsible timber stand management.  Trees that are taken are in suppressed stages of growth because they grow in the under-story of larger trees.  Removal of these trees benefits the remaining trees by reducing competition for water and nutrients and in turn benefits us by producing tight grained strong wood for beautiful furniture.
